AI inside the system, or AI outside it
AI outside your quality system works on copies. It cannot see your traceability, it leaves no audit trail, and every useful answer has to be carried back into the record by hand. AI inside the system works on the live record and writes nothing without human approval.

The challenge
What breaks when the AI sits outside
An assistant outside your system is not a smaller version of one inside it. It is a different architecture, and five things follow from that. It answers on a snapshot. The copy was true when it was pasted. Every change since is invisible to the model and to you. It cannot see traceability. Coverage gaps and orphaned risks are relationships between records, and a pasted document has no relationships in it. It leaves no trace. Nothing about the exchange enters your audit trail, so the reasoning behind a decision lives in a chat log nobody controls. Controlled content leaves your controls. Your access model, your retention policy and your data agreements stop applying to it. Somebody has to carry it back. The retyping is where the time saving goes, and where transcription errors enter a controlled document.
Our solution
What changes when it sits inside
Matrix Mind is built directly into Matrix Req, so the assistant starts from the live project rather than from an extract somebody prepared. It reads what is true now. The answer reflects the current state of the project, including the change made an hour ago. It can follow the links. Requirement to risk to test case, across a full lifecycle, with no manual report to run first. It inherits your permissions. People see what they are entitled to see, and the assistant widens nobody's access. It writes only through review. Nothing reaches your documentation until a person validates and confirms it. It is grounded, not generated. Answers reference the records they came from, so they can be checked against them.
Where the difference shows up
The architecture stops being an abstract argument at the point where somebody has to defend a decision.
Matrix Mind
Ask in plain language and get answers grounded in real project data. Every answer cites the items it came from, so your team can check it in one click.

Learn moreFAQ
01Can we not just use ChatGPT on our documents?
You can, and for unregulated drafting it is perfectly reasonable. The difficulty in a regulated context is that a pasted document carries no traceability, the exchange sits outside your audit trail, and the controlled content has left your access controls.
02Does AI inside the system mean it writes to our records automatically?
No. Inside the system describes what the AI can read and where its output appears. The AI never changes anything on its own: each proposed change is shown as a redline, applied only when a person approves it, done with that person's permissions, and can be undone. It never deletes records.
03How do you stop the AI inventing an answer?
Matrix Mind is grounded in your real project data rather than in general knowledge. Every answer cites the items it came from, so your team can check it in one click.
04Does this require changing our quality procedures?
No. The AI works inside the project structure you already have, and the approval steps in your procedures stay exactly where they are.
05Can we use our own AI assistant on Matrix Req data?
Yes, and it is a third case between the two. With the Matrix Req MCP connection, Claude, Cursor or any MCP-compatible assistant reads your live projects with your own Matrix login, read-only, so nothing is copied out. Your data then goes to the AI provider you chose, under your own agreement with that provider.
